Residents Celebrate Our Amazing Team During Glad to Care Week

At The Hazelwell, we recently celebrated Thankful Tuesday as part of Glad to Care Week. It is a national initiative that highlights the hard work and dedication of care home staff across the country and gave our residents the chance to recognise and thank the team who care for them each day.
Residents were invited to write personal messages to members of the care team, expressing their gratitude for the warmth, patience and professionalism shown to them throughout their care journey From kind words tucked into colourful cards to short notes filled with fond memories, each message was a testament to the strong bonds that form between our residents and staff.

One resident wrote, "Thank you for always being there with a smile, even when things get busy. It means more than you know." Another shared, "You help make The Hazelwell feel like home every single day." These messages were proudly displayed in our communal areas throughout the week, bringing smiles and even a few happy tears to our team.
These kind words also sparked warm conversations, where residents shared stories and memories of moments when staff had gone above and beyond. For our carers, this recognition was deeply meaningful. It reminded them that even the smallest gestures, like a comforting word or a reassuring cup of tea, can have a lasting impact.

Glad to Care Week is a gentle but powerful reminder that gratitude goes a long way, and that care is not just about tasks, but about building real, human connections. As part of our continued commitment to a nurturing, home-from-home environment, we’ll be carrying the spirit of Thankful Tuesday with us all year round.
